The IOIT (International Optoelectronics IT Exhibition) was held 18-21 June, 2002 
in Wuhan.  HKOEA has participated this exhibition.  It was a big success in 
bringing up the HKOEA's profile while promoting our objectives & services.

There were six companies took part in our HKOEA pavilion as exhibitors. They 
were Accent Optical Technologies, Intech LCD Group, Lumen Engineering & 
Consultant, Photonics Manufacturing Services, Sanwa Technologies, Baptist 
University and Opto Supply (Brochures only).  

HKOEA has obtained 100 inquires with additional of over 400 inquires for the 
exhibitors.  The result was encouraging.

Besides the exhibition, we have other activities:

- HKOEA members participated the IOIT welcome party, cocktail reception 
  following by dinner.   Met with all Major Government officials, and major 
  companies in optoelectronics field. 

- HKOEA members participated the IOIT opening ceremony as VIP guests.

- HKOEA President Mr. Daniel Lau has signed agreement on behalf of HKOEA with Optics valley / Wuhan 
   government "a frame work agreement of cooperation".

- HKOEA Sr. Vice President Mr. William Yim has made a speech introducing HKOEA at the forum in presence of 
   government officials, press and overseas delegations.

- Dinner was hosted by Mr. Yuan Shan La, the Deputy Mayor, City of Wuhan 
   government for HKOEA. A few action items was discussed and agreed. One of 
   which was that HKOEA with WOV will set up a "Cross Strait Optoelectronics 
   Forum including the four regions of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan,
   Macau". A working committee will be set up in due course.

- A lot of discussion made between most overseas association e.g..PIDA, PAS and
   etc.

- Daniel and William were interviewed by Wuhan CCTV Channel, China 
  Electronics News, Electronics Technology magazine and Wen Wei Po.

- HKOEA has made tour visiting the following local Optoelectronics companies, 
  Chutian Laser, and Wuhan Research Institute, etc..
